Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings of Rayleigh u3a are  held on the 1st Wednesday of each month (excluding August & December) at The Mill Hall, Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh, SS6 7ED. The meetings take place between 1.45pm – 4.00pm and are open to all our members.

Monthly Meetings provide an ideal opportunity to socialise, read the notice boards for details on forthcoming events, buy tickets and visit the book stall whilst chatting to other members. A PowerPoint display on the stage also gives details of events and information to members. Approximately at 2.15pm we welcome everyone to the meeting and at 2.30pm there is a talk by a Speaker, usually followed by any questions - this normally lasts about an hour.

There is parking available in the adjacent Pay and Display Car Park, or in two nearby Council Car Parks.

Educational & Social Events

A wide variety of events are planned throughout the year. Our Educational Events have included a Cybercrime Presentation, The History of Spoken English & English Surnames,  and a Study Day on Royal Occasions and Ceremonies which included lunch at Saxon Hall.

Our Talks for All take place in a smaller venue with speakers and light refreshments, have included presentations on The Birds in your Garden, The Red Arrows, a Fire Safety and First Aid talk at Rayleigh Fire Station, and Grace Darling and the Fine Art of Saving Lives at Sea.

Our Social Events recently have included a Fish & Chips Lunch with Entertainment, our annual Christmas Lunch, a Thank You lunch for our Volunteers and Group Leaders and Theatre Trips in London and locally.
